M.W. Brother Rob Casson was born in Pinnaroo, South Australia on Friday, June 13th 1941. The youngest of a family of three, Rob was the only son of the late Laurie and Rene Casson. Laurie Casson was a local business man and Rob’s parents were committed to the local community. V.W. Bro L.S. Casson was a Freemason for 62 years. On completion of his education at Pinnaroo Area School Rob joined the Post Master General’s Department as a technical trainee. This technical background led to further job opportunities in the whitegoods industry. Married to Adele, they have two children, son Simon has his own business as a professional photographer and daughter Joanne after some years as a teacher has established a marketing career. In 1966 Rob joined Radio Rentals and at retirement in 1996, was a member of the Senior Management Team. Thirty years of service with the same company. Early days found Rob playing Australian Rules football with Pinnaroo, and Junior football with the Sturt Football Club. Later, water skiing with family and friends was a favourite pastime for many years. Rob also played Pennant Squash for Ken McGregor’s Squash Club for fourteen years.- Initiated into Lodge St. David in 1976 Rob held every office in his lodge and became Master in 1984, and again in 1994. Appointed Grand Standard Bearer in 1988, an Assistant Grand Director in 1989 and, in 1994, as Grand Director directed the first Grand Installation at the Adelaide Convention Centre. He served the office of Senior Grand Warden in 1995-6. Recently ‘retired’ as Deputy Grand Director of Ceremonies in the Mark Degree, Rob is a past 2nd Principal in Royal Arch Masonry and a 30° member of the Rose Croix. R.W. Bro. Rob Casson was installed as Deputy Grand Master by M.W. Bro. Tucker in April 2000. For many years Bro. Casson has served this Grand Lodge in a variety of administrative roles. He brings to the office of Grand Master many years of administrative experience both in the commercial world and the Masonic environment. Brother

South
Australia and Northern Territory at a public ceremony in Adelaide on
Saturday,
3rd May 2003. On 22 April 2006 he installed MW Bro Graham L Bollenhagen as
his successor. |
